Summary

Aslan, the children and Uncle Andrew are in the Wood Between the Worlds. Aslan gives a warning and a command. The race of Adam and Eve must heed the warning of the world of Charn. Aslan points out to them while in the Wood between the Worlds that the pool that had once led to the ruins of Charn has disappeared. The world of Charn is gone forever, as though it never existed in the first place. Aslan says to be careful since someone from earth could find something as evil as the Deplorable Word and use it to destroy all living things. Aslan says that soon there will be 'tyrants' akin to Jadis who care not for justice, joy or mercy.

They must go back and bury the rings, which they do. Digory gives his mother the apple and she gets better. He buries the apple core and rings in the backyard. The tree grows. His father returns from India, and the family moves to a country house. Years later the tree gets chopped down. Digory uses it to build his wardrobe.
